Market Research
Aligned with the core address and contact data information held in the D2 List Universe, we offer a range of traditional as well as new media research services. These include collection of information by telephone, paper based research questionnaires delivered and returned by normal post, plus on-line surveys with web and email interfaces.
Telephone Research
Gathering market intelligence by telephone is time consuming, requires dedication and commitment of resources including personnel. Many organisations now prefer to outsource such activities. D2's dedicated Telephone Research Team can conduct information-gathering campaigns of any size.
A Test Package is available, enabling potential users to trial, prior committing to a full campaign. For a fixed fee (usually no more than £500.00) D2 will agree objectives and outcomes with clients, help to develop call scripts and provide 10 hours of operator time to trial a campaign.
The fees usually including the cost of supping test data. A comprehensive assessment will be supplied after the trial has completed. Should the trial prove successful, ongoing research can be commissioned. This is billed on hourly rates, plus data usage fees.
Postal Questionnaires
For clients preferring a more traditional approach to research, D2 offer a Postal Questionnaire service. Again, a Test Package is available, enabling users to trial, prior committing to a full campaign. For a fixed fee (Usually no more than £250.00), D2 will agree objectives and outcomes, and help to develop a paper-based questionnaire.
Targets for the research can be selected from D2's List Universe. Personalised documents can be printed and mailed on behalf of clients. Costings are based on a combination of data, document printing, handling and postage fees. This is a bespoke service. Estimates are available to clients on request,
Automated, Interactive Research Solutions
At the cutting edge of technology our Interactive Voice Messaging service offers an effective way to communicate personally with a given target audience. The service can deliver a pre-recorded voice message to literally thousands of individuals simultaneously.
The services can be used as a stand-alone or in conjunction with other messaging or research efforts, such as fax and email, to enhance response rates to questionnaires or other data collection campaigns. Reply Handling
Continuing with D2's 'one-stop' philosophy, we offer a comprehensive range of reply-handling services.
Freepost Response Services Freepost is recognised as the easiest possible way to encourage response. There are three services available…
Freepost Pre-printed offers First or Second Class postage and lets the sender supply a separate return device printed with their address - usually a card or an envelope, usually enclosed in the mailing. Recipients then use this to reply to the sender free of charge.
Freepost Hand-written offers Second Class replies and requires no pre-printing on envelopes or reply cards. Freepost Hand-written users simply provide the Freepost address and the recipient writes it on an envelope or postcard they have chosen to use themselves.
Freepost NAME provides a simple address - ideal when individuals don't have time to write down an address, such as with TV and Radio adverts. Freepost and an organisation name in capital letters, for example, Freepost DIRECT 2 can be pre-printed by the user but is normally hand-written by is customers, on an envelope or card.
Clients can design their own return devices. These are usually envelopes, cards, tear-off coupons and the like. There is some flexibility but all designs need to comply with Royal Mail's design guidelines. D2 are happy to arrange Freepost licences for it's clients. A schedule of costs in available on request.
Inbound Email
For new media campaigns or for traditional campaigns were large volumes of correspondence would be received by email, D2 offer and email collection service. We can secure bespoke campaign addresses - e.g. reply@yourcampaignname.com for specific projects. Email can be forwarded back to the client for data capture or other action. A schedule of costs in available on request.
Inbound Call Handling
Using free-phone 0800 or national ate numbers linked to dedicated Call Centres, we can take the pressure off your internal systems and process large volumes of incoming calls. For brochure and catalogue requests, we check the addresses of inbound calls using the latest post coding software and create lists of items to be mailed, either by our own fulfilment service or by the client. Catalogue requests can be also submitted via Internet Forms and E-mail, which are then added to a database.
Calls generated by Journal, Radio or TV advertising can also need special attention. Address data for orders or requests for information can be validated, again using post coding software. We can also check credit cards for validity, and choose products from a catalogue supplied by our clients, adding post and packing charges as required.
Intelligent Voicemail services can also direct calls to live operators or to the clients office. Complete calls can also be handled using IVR (Interactive Voice Recognition) and then transcribe it onto a database afterwards. Data Capture

Corporate Image Library
When creating professional and impressive documents such as company brochures, sales leaflets, corporate presentations and more, the use of 'stock photography' can save hours of creative time and literally thousands of pounds in professional photography fees.
With so many image libraries and photographic image re-sellers to choose from, its not so much a case of does the image exist (the chances are it probably does), more over, where does one start in the search for specific images. To assist clients in the search, selection and acquisition of images, D2 offer an Image Search and Acquisition service.
For a fixed fee of £200.00 per search, D2 will hunt down specific images and return a maximum of ten for the client to chose from. Assuming the search proved successful and the client selects an image he or she wishes to use, D2 would negotiate usage rights and costs with the image owner.
